Jackie + Herbert + Pre-Wedding

Meet Jackie and Herbert. I first met both individuals in 2002 having gone to the same university together and friends with the international students in the campus. We would often see each other back then since the Indonesian and Malaysian would hang out together and close proximity from each other in the international student apartment. Jackie is originated from Indonesia and where Herbert is from Malaysia.

It’s been years since the last time that I saw them and it was an honor to take their pre-wedding pictures. They are now married and will have the reception to celebrate the event toward the end of the year.

Pictures are taken in Brown County State Park in Nashville, Indiana. We only had few hours due to the activities at work, but it was memorable. It’s hard not to smile and laugh when hanging out with the couple and just overall enjoying the conversation and time spent during the photo shoot. I’m thankful for the time spent for the occasion and blessed! :)

Ajeng + Askin + Pre-Wedding

Meet Askin and Ajeng. I knew both of them through friends with one from the international community and another through circle of Indonesian friends. It’s been awhile that I haven’t met both of them and glad that I was able to take their pre-wedding pictures prior to their wedding in Indonesia, later on this year.

Forecasted with a high of 30F, we were thinking of a warmer day until the winds start to kick in. It was cold and we had to strategically move around mixing indoor and outdoor shots. A little hectic, but the session overall turned out well and we had a lot of fun. It was nice going back to the campus where they first met each other and had great conversation as we drive from one location to another. I’m blessed and would like to thank both of the couple for their time. :)

Narith + Eriko + Engagement

Meet Eriko and Narith. I’ve known both of them for several years and I was so happy when first being asked to take their engagement pictures. It was an honor and there is nothing like capturing your friend’s happiness through pictures.

They are wonderful couple and I truly enjoyed working with them as we walked around the Indianapolis Museum of Art (IMA) starting from the back to the front. On top of that, it was a great weather and we were so thankful being at the right time with the fall foliage season upon us. Thank you so much for your time and I’m blessed !!! :)

Tatya + Karniwa + Engagement

Meet Tatya and Karniwa. I knew Tatya from Amanda and it was my privileged to finally meeting both of them. More importantly, I am very appreciative for them taking their busy time out for today’s engagement / pre-wedding pictures. They both work on wedding/event industry, so weekend are their busiest time. On the other note, it was a gorgeous day to be outside and we had fun walking around the garden at the Zoo and white river park during the session.

One moment that I remembered the most was when we were taking pictures at the garden. At that time, I started noticing that Karniwa at times blink his eyes and were able to confirm looking at the previously taken pictures in zoom. The good thing is that I took several pictures on the same pose, so I saw one picture with the eyes closed and another open. Well, there is one instance where I was zooming the picture to see if the eyes were closed. After a short silence, I said “it’s open” enthusiastically and that moment made everyone bursting laughing. :) I truly enjoy that moment and made me felt comfortable. :) It was an overall fun and memorable session. Both are a nice couple and complement each other. Tatya is outgoing, while Karniwa is patient. Thank you once again and I’m blessed. :)

Neil + Ly’s + Engagement

It was a memorable day and perhaps one of the most exciting engagement photo shoots that I’ve had. :) On top of friendly and a great couple in Neil and Ly, we have talented designer and make up artist with us. The session was relaxing, fun, and interactive with creative and fun ideas.

Started from the newly discovered sunflower area in downtown, we went to monument circle taking pictures on the street when there was no traffic (had to go several times to get the right pictures), and lastly enough time to get to Indianapolis Museum of Art before the sunset. It was a blast and the picture highlights on this page showed what a fun day it was. I’m blessed and would like to thank everyone for such a great day!

Jennifer + Paul + Engagement + Ceremony

Capturing Vietnamese engagement ceremony is always interesting as not only important in the culture but also meaningful. It involves activities from asking permission to receive the bride, receiving the bride at her house, and paying respect to the family through tea and candle ceremony. I had fun covering the event and would like to congratulate both Jennifer and Paul for their engagement! :)

Noelle + Herschel + Engagement

Meet Noelle and Herschel. I’m thankful not only for them taking their busy time out for the engagement / pre-wedding photo shoot, but also the much cooler summer morning here in Indy. We are blessed! It makes everything so much easier and we had fun going different places in capturing their pictures. They are mainly in downtown area focusing not only their favorite hangout coffee shop in Starbucks, but also some interesting part of the town. I had a great time knowing the couples and wish them all the best preparing for the wedding.

Raymond + Vonny + Engagement

I knew Raymond and Vonny at least for 6 years going all the way back when I was in college. At that time, Indonesian student was very limited and everyone pretty much knew each other. However, Vonny and Raymond were different and more than a friend. They are my brother and sister in Christ who helped me tremendously and often spend our Friday nights having fellowship together with the group.

Both are now residing in different states and I was so thrilled when first found out that they are wanting to take some pictures here in Indianapolis before going back to Indonesia for their wedding. I had a blast and these two were just awesome and easy to work with. You will see from the pictures how fun and loving these two are. I’m blessed to be a part of it and early congratulation to both Raymond and Vonny!

With this photography blog and site being new, I would like to kindly present some of other engagements done in the previous sessions. They are dated from 2007 and 2008. If there is one thing, engagement pictures are fun! A lot of love and creativity as they are getting ready for the big day.
